What is Verb ? Types & Its Example

 WHAT IS VERB?

VERB: The key role of verb is to give an indication of an action in relation to the particular time frame. It should be clear whether that action is current, occurred in the past or expected to in future.

EXAMPLES:


1. ALI IS PLAYING.

2 .IMRAN IS DANCING.


TYPES OF VERB:

1.TRANSITIVE VERB: Transitive verb are those verb which normally have a direct object.


Ex:  Sub + T.V + Obj

1. Ram is reading newspaper.

2. Amir is playing cricket.


2. INTRANSITIVE VERB: Intransitive verb which does not have any specific object on which the action being done.


Ex: Sub + I.T.V + Adv

1. Kids are playing.

2. Mohan is sleeping. 

3.LINKING VERB: Linking verb are those verb that needs subjective complement rather than object that subjective complement describes the subject.

Ex: 


1. He looked tired.

2. Your face grows red

4.AUXILIARY VERB: Auxiliary verb are those verb used to form question and negative sentence.


Ex:


1. Had walked.

2. Will Run.

5. MODAL VERB: Modal verb are those verb that are used to talk about request, offer, habit, suggestion, permission, promise ability.
